I haven’t written anything in a few months and several of you have asked me about it, well I’m finally trying to write something worth reading! We all go through seasons in life of lack, lack of understanding, lack of motivation, lack of confidence.
My heart has been really heavy for about 3 months now watching some of the people I love the most suffer and fight for their lives and losing a couple. I have always had a heart that wants to take care of others, do everything I can to help make their life better, easier, to help carry the burden that they are facing.
But now with my situation and abilities, I cannot be there like I desire to be there and that breaks my heart. I can’t just get up and rush to the hospital, I can’t physically serve someone or help them get things done that they aren’t able to attend to at the moment. I can’t give someone a ride or cook them a meal, or dog sit for them.
My way to care for my loved ones now has become mental and emotional support, empathy, being not just a listener but a hearer, trying to understand and PRAYING NONSTOP! Loving them and supporting them in the ways that I am capable, which doesn’t feel like much and I get depressed about it.
The stroke stole many things from me, physical ability, some of my biggest dreams and desires, but I have to remind myself that I am a child of God! “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalms 23:1 NKJV
He knows my deepest desires, He knows my heart and He knows my pain and I believe that He is molding those, molding me and using it all for His purpose and glory.
My abilities have changed, my dreams and desires are being transformed by my Savior to fulfill His will. Yes it’s very painful and yes it’s taking me a lot of submitting and surrendering, trusting that Jesus Christ is guiding and protecting me, but I can’t wait to see what He does through me
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
Psalms 23:1-4 NKJV
