Pablo is truly a gift from God! Not only does he help me immensely physically but he has actually made a huge impact on me spiritually. A service dogs number one job is to stay focused on their handler, ready and waiting for their next command or move, being available to help their handler when they are needed. And Pablo gets excited when I give him a job to do because he knows it pleases me when he obeys. He’s supposed to obey only my voice and ignore other voices that talk to him and everything that is going on around us, anything that can distract him from fulfilling his purpose.
What a beautiful picture that paints of how we should be with our “handler”. Keeping our focus on our Heavenly Handler, ready and waiting for our next move. Getting excited to do what He has asked us to do because we know it pleases Him. Of obeying only His voice, ignoring all the other voices coming at us from every direction and the circumstances surrounding us. But to keep focused on our Heavenly Handler, making sure we are available the second our handler has a job for us to do. Ready and waiting to fulfill our purpose in this chaotic world.
